Well, our work on innerTee was a finalist for a SXSW Web Award, but we didn't win the award. As a matter of fact, we were losers, but we had fun with our shirts that night and I think we received more attention from the shirts than if we had actually won.
We already have a write up on Webware.com. I met Rafe in the food line before the SXSW Web Awards Ceremony started. I found his take on innerTee to be rather funny: "That has to be the goofiest thing I have ever heard... but I like it."
Some of the panels were lacking and some were surprisingly boring (I found out that is why you sit close to the door), but I did meet some great people there. I had the pleasure of sitting next to Nick Rigby and Paul Annett at the Grids Are Good and How to Design with Them panel, which was a good panel presented by Mark Boulton and Khoi Vihn. Their panel on grids was great. Part of me wished it was much longer, but part of me thinks it was the right length because it forced me to pay attention. I am actually implementing what I learned about grids on new projects and it is working beautifully!
Most of what I liked about the good panels was the panelists that told stories that showed they learned from it and the basic principle for the rest of us to take to heart. Some of the panelists were rather dull, though, as they tended to be too technical or just provide stories without any "lesson learned" to share.
The Wireless Dial-up was a bit frustrating as there was usually so many people on the WiFi that it was mostly unusable during much of the event, but it gave me time to work on some things I needed to get done, anyway (new innerTee mockups, CSS changes, etc).
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the crew from nGen Works. They truly are a talented bunch.
All in all, it was a good experience and I learned it's more about the people than the panels. We had a good time and we got some good exposure for innerTee.
