Last night, my 8 year old son wanted me to see what he had typed up on the old word processor we gave our children to play with. I told him I'd look after I finished cleaning up in the kitchen and he was nice enough to offer to help and, together, we loaded the dishwasher.
He was telling me that he thought what he had typed up was 'strongly'. I didn't understand what he meant and told him that didn't make sense to me. His statement seemed incomplete, to me... the adult. After we finished loading the dishwasher Jennifer and I went to look at what he wrote.
"HEAVEN IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE IN. NO MAN OR MIND CAN IMAGINE, NO EAR CAN OR NO EYE HAS SEEN OUR LORD, BUT HE HAS A PLAN FOR US AND HE TALKS TO THE HEART OF THE HUMAN. I THINK GOD'S PLAN IS FOR ME TO BE A MISSIONARY." — My 8yr old son
He said he wrote it in all caps because it is about God which shows he has a deep reverence for God even in his writing.
He was completely right. Together, those words are definitely 'strongly'.
Please keep in mind that children aren't at all ignorant. They may not think like adults, but that is the wonder and beauty of children. They have a knack for making you stop and think about your own perspective and how wrong we can sometimes be.
The things they have on their mind, have to say or write may surprise you.
Children truly are Strongly.
